I would reccomend getting a clownfish of some sort, one or two cleaner shrimp, about 3 green chromis and maybe an urchin. Later you could add a small butterflyfish or maybe a clownwrasse. Gobies are also a terrific choice. Maybe a small anenome for your clownfish, though this is not neccessary.
But don’t forget your clean up crew, some snails and hermit crabs.

Definitely get live rock. Depending on where it from depends on how much to get i.e. if its Fiji rock then get about 1 pound for every 1 1/2 gallons of water. If its a denser rock you will need more.
I reckon put in a couple of clowns (perculas are best) an then wait a few weeks put in a goby or small wrasse or something, wait another few weeks maybe then a dwarf angel. For corals and stuff wait about 3 months just to make sure you have enough nutrients in the water to keep them. Soft corals are easier to keep then hard corals. Shrimp, snails and crabs can be put in about 1 month after the first fish have gone in.
The most important thing is wait at least 2 weeks between additions. That way you wont overload it. Wait longer if you can bare it! I’m sure your local fish shop can advise what fish will be suitable etc. And if you go for all dwarf fish then you can get more varieties!
