Is it safe to keep discus in a 24g nano cube?

they are extremly hard to keep if you are a beginner, but you had a salt tank so your not beginner, your gettin frustrated with salt? discus are VERY tempermental, id research them a little more. but i hate discus, tried them once, didnt really work out. now i just have cichlids.

Discus are pretty, but as they can grow up to 8 inches, they require about 50 gallons of water per fish. They’re considered a moderate care fish and are very peaceful, but that said, they require an advanced level of care due to their feeding habits and water filtration requirements. Discus require high levels of oxygen. Because of their eye placement, discus also do not like a lot of lighting, so that would need to be researched as well. The filtration and lighting are things you can work with, but the biggest problem I think is the size of your tank. It could be okay for one small fish now, but you would need to know that you would have to double the size before long.

Sure it’s safe,but you will have to do a lot of water changes in a tank that small,like every day or so a major change. PeeTee

NO, NO, NO. Discus need a lot of room, they get pretty large, 8 inches when mature. that’s too much fish for that tank. You need a 55 to keep a pair of discus only. They are a cichlid, and they produce waste like one. They are also extremely demanding of water quality, and will deteriorate quickly if water is allowed to decline.
