Do aquapods make good aquariums?

aquapod
phantomknightlad asked:

Hi, I am considering buying a barely used aquapod and converting it to a reef aquarium. I would like some advice because i just bought a 30 gal hex aquarium and am realizing how difficult it is to work with. I’m basically just going to put it in the basement for now. Does anyone know how the lighting works, and how easy the bulbs are to change. I’m worried if aquapod stops making aquariums that I will not be able to continue the lighting. I am also thinking of putting 5-6 inches of fine sand with about 30lbs of live rocks. Any info or help esp from present users would be great.

this sould be fine my church curently have a huge aqua reef aqarium going thanks to the fish guy it is stocked with reef(duh) clown fish sea urchins and many other cool invertabrets. I would not worry about aquapod going out of bussiness the light change ease is equal to that of a normal full hood light. other wise I cannot offer you any more info sorry I don’t have much past expieance with sw or reef aqariums.
